Tourism in Belarus to Be Reoriented From Social Policy to Economic Development

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has signed the law “On Amendments to Laws on Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism”. The document brings a number of laws into line with a September 10, 2025 decree on improving state administration in the tourism sector and with law enforcement practice, his press service reported.

The law clarifies the goals and priorities of state regulation of tourism, aiming to transform the sector from a social policy sphere into an economic one. It formalises the powers of the recently established National Tourism Agency, changes the procedure for creating and maintaining the register of tourism industry entities, and expands the list of entities eligible to act as advertisers of public service announcements.
