Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expects “new momentum in peace efforts” this autumn. He said diplomacy would play a more active role after the summer “holidays.”

“Diplomacy must play an increasingly active role in peace efforts to end Russian aggression. And it is unrealistic to achieve this without the involvement of the United States. These are the geopolitical realities.

Recently, President Zelenskyy spoke with the American negotiating team. There is regular contact with the American negotiating team, with their side maintaining this contact. And this dialogue has not been interrupted.

And I recommend that you follow the news now. There have been neither holidays nor pauses in Ukraine — we are fighting for our land, for a just peace. And now, I believe, we will have new momentum in peace efforts as the active political and diplomatic phase returns in many capitals around the world. So follow the news”, he said.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin also spoke about a settlement at a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.

“We are grateful to everyone who is trying to contribute to resolving this issue. Are there chances? In my view, yes, there are”, he said.

At the same time, Putin stressed that Russia and Ukraine must reach an agreement first and foremost.
