Strong Winds Damage House Roof and Knock Down Trees in Homiel Region

Strong winds knocked down nine trees and damaged the roof of a private house in the Homiel region on the evening of Aug. 20. No one was injured, the Emergency Situations Ministry’s press service reported.

Winds with gusts of up to 15.3 meters per second were recorded in the region from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Five cases of fallen trees were reported in the Yelsk district, two in the Khoiniki district and one each in the Rechytsa and Rahachou districts. In the Yelsk district, Emergency Situations Ministry personnel were called to cut up and remove a fallen tree. Other organizations also took part in the work.

In Khoiniki, wind damaged the roof of a private residential house on Savetskaya Street.
