Strawberry Seedlings Attempted to Be Imported into Belarus at Undervalued Price

Brest customs officers have stopped the import into Belarus of a shipment of strawberry seedlings declared at an undervalued price, the State Customs Committee reported.

A Polish truck was crossing the border through the Kozlovichi checkpoint. The carrier stated in the documents that 85,000 seedlings were worth 65,000 roubles, but customs officers determined that their actual value was 340,000 roubles. In this way, the carrier intended to save about 70,000 roubles in customs payments.

An administrative case has been opened under the article on providing false information about goods (Part 3 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code). The article предусматривает a fine of up to 30% of the value of the subject of the administrative offence.
