State Control Committee Suspends Operations of Meat-Processing Company Near Minsk

The State Control Committee has suspended the operations of a private meat-processing company in the Minsk district.

The inspection found that the company failed to maintain cleanliness on its premises and did not carry out timely washing and disinfection of equipment. In addition, some employees had not completed mandatory hygiene training.

Inspectors also discovered about one tonne of unlabelled meat products and raw materials for their production in refrigerators and production facilities.

The inspection materials were forwarded to the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. A decision was made to remove the company from the Register of Production Facilities.

Authorities are considering whether to hold the private company administratively liable.
