The State Control Committee uncovered an illegal scheme for winning tenders. It was identified during an inspection of one of the enterprises in Belarus’ energy system.
“During the analysis of commercial offers allegedly received from various organizations, inspectors questioned their authenticity. It was later established that most of these organizations had long been liquidated or had not conducted any commercial activity,” the statement said.
As a result, for three years the enterprise purchased metal structures from an intermediary company. The winner of the procurement procedure bought the structures from a Belarusian manufacturer and resold them to the enterprise with a markup of 100% or more, despite the allowed markup being no more than 10%.
“The enterprise suffered damages exceeding 300,000 rubles. A criminal case has been opened,” the State Control Committee concluded.
