Salihorsk District Department of Internal Affairs drug control officers, with armed support from Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR) officers, detained a 47-year-old local man in a shooting incident. The Interior Ministry said he is suspected of distributing large quantities of drugs in Minsk Region.
According to the ministry, the man had previously been convicted of robbery and illegal drug trafficking. It is alleged that he resisted arrest and moved toward police officers with an object resembling a knife. A special forces serviceman used a firearm and fired a targeted shot at the suspect’s legs.
The man received medical assistance at the scene and was subsequently hospitalized.
