Singer Anastasia Rydlevskaya Assaulted in Central Gdańsk

Singer and artist Anastasia Rydlevskaya reported that she was attacked in central Gdańsk. According to her, the incident occurred while she was recording a video for TikTok: an unidentified man struck her three times on the head.

“I was filming a song for TikTok. And then some man started shouting that I was ‘on drugs’. I shouted back something like: ‘What are you talking about? What nonsense?’” she said on Telegram. “I didn’t think — it was a stupid idea — I approached him, and he hit me. With full force, once in the head. Then again. And then a third time. And it was really scary.”

At the time of the incident, her husband Aliaksei was nearby. A fight broke out between him and the attacker, after which the man fled, and Aliaksei called the police. Passersby approached the scene and tried to support Anastasia.

After the attack, the artist sought medical help. A CT scan revealed no serious injuries, and doctors recommended rest and plenty of fluids. However, as she noted, she had to spend about seven hours in the emergency department.

Her husband called the police. Later, Anastasia shared a conversation that took place directly at the station.

“To summarise what they told us:
Well, you weren’t stabbed? You weren’t. If you want, file a civil lawsuit (something about violation of bodily integrity). You’ll pay a thousand zlotys for the lawsuit, but you’ll most likely win nothing. I can tell you for sure that you’ll win nothing.
– Well, fine, but I have a video of this person, and there are cameras, and his face is visible. Do you want me to give it to you so you know that this person is near my house…
– No.
– Okay, so what should I do then? He hangs around near my house, and I’m afraid to go outside now.
– Well, don’t go up to him.
– I wasn’t going up to him, he came up to me.
– Well, run away from him. But you can use pepper spray.”

“Terrible experience, I don’t recommend it to anyone. For the future: if an unstable person approaches you, probably don’t defend yourself — just run. No one will help you. (…) I don’t want to file anything anywhere. I’ll just spread the video with his face into some public groups, maybe someone will recognise him, and that’s all I want,” the artist concluded.
