Belarus expects to harvest 11 million tonnes of grain this year, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Shuleika said.
“Since winter, we have been preparing for the spring fieldwork campaign. There was heavy snowfall and a challenging sowing season, but this year everything is proceeding according to plan. We are already engaged in forage harvesting and can see the development of our main crops. We hope to harvest at least 11 million tonnes of grain,” the government press service quoted him as saying.
Last year, the Agriculture and Food Ministry expected a similar result. In the end, the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops in 2025 amounted to 9.15 million tonnes after processing. However, in recent years officials have begun including rapeseed in overall harvest figures, which has boosted the headline numbers. Rapeseed production totalled 910,300 tonnes last year.
The state programme “Agricultural Sector of the Future” for 2026–2030 stipulates that this year’s grain harvest should reach nearly 9.1 million tonnes, while rapeseed production is projected at 1.1 million tonnes.
