Belarusian Human Rights Groups Recognize 10 More Political Prisoners

Belarusian human rights organizations have recognized 10 more people as political prisoners. The joint statement was published by the Viasna Human Rights Centre.

The newly recognized political prisoners are Valiantsina Biarezina, Maryna Dalmatava, Siarhei Zhukouski, Siarhei Zaruba, Aliaksei Kakhanovich, Mikhail Karol, Viktoryia Patashkina, Anatol Rybak, Aliaksandr Sasnouski, and Anton Tselesh.

The human rights organizations called for the immediate release of these individuals, as well as all other political prisoners, and demanded an end to political repression in Belarus.

According to Viasna, 868 people are currently recognized as political prisoners.
