Border Guard officers and officials from Poland’s National Revenue Administration discovered illegal cigarettes in a car driven by a 42-year-old Belarusian citizen.
The vehicle was stopped for inspection in the Piątnica municipality. Officers found 3,000 packs of cigarettes without Polish excise tax stamps inside the Škoda. The cigarettes were valued at approximately 60,000 zlotys.
The Belarusian citizen now faces penalties for a tax offence. He has also been ordered to return to Belarus and has been banned from entering the Schengen area for five years.
