Seven Graduates Removed From Centralised Exam in Belarus

During the centralised exam, seven 11th-grade graduates were removed from examination rooms for violating the rules, BelTA reported. The reasons included the use of mobile phones, headphones and a multifunctional calculator, as well as making changes to answer sheets after the allotted time had expired.

In total, around 58,900 people took the exam — 99.7% of those admitted. A total of 204 people did not attend, including 81 external candidates. The main reasons were illness and participation in sporting competitions. Another 13 participants did not complete the exam for health reasons, while two were not admitted due to the absence of a passport.

A total of 702 students were exempted from the exam, including 338 home-schooled students, 197 winners of academic competitions and 167 people for medical reasons. Special conditions were created for 178 participants with chronic illnesses and health conditions. More than 7,000 teaching staff supported the administration of the exam.

“This year, conditions were created for 178 participants based on the specifics of their medical conditions and the need to use mobile devices with software to monitor health status: diabetes mellitus (99 people), musculoskeletal disorders (28 people), hearing impairments (51 people). Two visually impaired students were permitted to use enlarged answer sheets. Volunteer support was organised at all exam venues”, the Education Ministry said.

Those who did not complete the exam for valid reasons will be able to sit it on the reserve date of June 20.
