The Vitsyebsk Region Prosecutor’s Office has sent a criminal case against a 74-year-old entrepreneur from Vitsyebsk and his 57-year-old accountant to court.
According to the prosecution, the Vitsyebsk resident, who was the director and de facto head of four companies engaged in renting out real estate, set up an illegal tax optimisation scheme.
“In particular, he unlawfully took advantage of the simplified taxation system. He was assisted by a 57-year-old employee who kept the accounts and knowingly entered false information in tax returns.
Using this scheme, the manager evaded taxes totalling more than 1.3 million rubles between 2018 and 2022, which constitutes an especially large amount,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The damage caused has been partially compensated. The defendants remain under travel restrictions and are required to maintain proper conduct.
