Ryzhankou Discusses Middle East Situation With Oman’s Foreign Minister on Lukashenka’s Instructions

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou discussed the situation in the Middle East with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi. The conversation took place on the instructions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

Ryzhankou expressed support for Oman’s efforts “to establish lasting peace in the region, as well as for all mediation steps undertaken by it.”

Oman’s foreign minister informed his Belarusian counterpart about developments in the conflict zone.

“The interlocutors emphasized that there is no alternative to a diplomatic settlement of the situation. With great concern, they noted the continued deaths of civilians and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. The ministers spoke in favor of the earliest possible cessation of all violent actions,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The sides noted that all parties involved must return to resolving disagreements by peaceful means in order to restore stability and security in the region.

Ryzhankou stated that Belarus is ready to make all necessary efforts that would contribute to de-escalating the conflict.

The parties also reaffirmed the friendly nature of relations between the peoples of Belarus and Oman, “the foundation of which is laid by the sincere mutual respect and support that has developed between the leaders of the two countries.”

In November–December 2025, Lukashenka, together with his sons Viktar Lukashenka and Mikalai Lukashenka, paid a lengthy visit to Oman. Following the trip, he announced plans to create a joint investment fund, build a new pulp and paper mill in Belarus, as well as a logistics hub and a Belarusian resort in Oman.
