A new criminal case has been opened against political prisoner Alena Malinouskaya, who was convicted in 2022 together with a cousin of Pavel Latushka, the initiative Dissidentby reported.
Malinouskaya is accused under articles on inciting hatred (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code) and calls for sanctions (Part 3 of Article 361).
According to human rights defenders, the charges concern eight episodes. Details of the accusations are unknown.
In 2022, Alena was tried together with Liliya Ananyan and Latushka’s cousin Anatol Latushka. She was sentenced to four years in a penal colony. She was found guilty of participating in actions that grossly violate public order, desecration of state symbols and hooliganism. According to the prosecution, Latushka, Malinouskaya and Ananyan took part in protests, burned a state flag and painted the “Pahonia” symbol in a building entrance.
Malinouskaya was supposed to be released on August 31, 2025. She was detained under the new criminal case and taken from the colony directly into custody in Minsk.
