Russia Launches More Than 700 Drones and Missiles at Ukraine, Leaving Dead

Russia continued its large-scale attacks on Ukrainian cities overnight, again using a large number of drones and missiles. Poland scrambled aircraft and increased the readiness of its air defence systems.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used 703 weapons, including:

  • 19 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
  • 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 659 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones.

Ukrainian air defence systems shot down or suppressed 667 targets, including:

  • 8 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
  • 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 636 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones.

Twelve missiles and 20 drones struck 26 locations, while debris fell in 25 areas.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, four people were killed in Kyiv and 48 others were injured. In the Obolon district, parked cars caught fire and warehouse facilities, a tyre repair shop and a store were damaged. Two people were killed there, while six others were injured, including police officers and ambulance workers who had arrived at the scene.

In the Podil district, the facades of residential buildings were destroyed. Two bodies were found under the rubble, including that of a 12-year-old child. Three other people were injured. Two hotels were also damaged and a one-storey house was destroyed. A drone hit a multi-storey residential building.

Two people were injured in Kharkiv.

In Odesa, seven people were killed and another 11 were injured. Infrastructure facilities and a residential building in the Khadzhibei district were damaged, while the blast wave shattered more than 300 windows in several buildings.
