Russia Destroys 500 Kilograms of Belarusian Sausages

Russian authorities have destroyed 500 kilograms of meat and dairy products brought from Belarus without the required documentation.

The vehicle was stopped in Russia’s Bryansk region on June 22. The driver said he had purchased the goods at one of the stores in Belarus’ Homiel region. Officials from Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) determined that the producer was not listed in the register of enterprises authorized to export products to Russia. In addition, the goods were transported without the required documents and in violation of sanitary regulations.

The products were destroyed, and the carrier was held administratively liable, Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
