Retail Trade Turnover Rises 6% in First Quarter

Retail trade turnover in Belarus totalled 25.6 billion Belarusian roubles in January-March, up 6% from the same period last year, according to Belstat.

Trade organisations accounted for 96.1% of total retail turnover. Retail turnover in trade organisations increased by 6.4% to 24.6 billion roubles.

Average daily retail turnover per capita since the beginning of the year amounted to 31.4 roubles. This was 3.4 roubles higher than a year earlier.

Wholesale trade turnover fell by 3.8% to 41.8 billion roubles.

Public catering turnover decreased by 1.1% to 1.8 billion roubles.
