‘Resistance to Dictatorship Is a Shared, Global Task’ — Tsikhanouskaya Attends Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo. The leader of the democratic forces arrived at the event at the invitation of Venezuelan opposition leader and defender of democracy María Corina Machado, who received the award for her longstanding struggle for freedom and human rights in her country.

Tsikhanouskaya emphasized that Machado’s work is important not only for Venezuela.

“She reminds all of us that resistance to dictatorship is a shared, global task,” she noted.

“We in Belarus are walking the same path — through repression, fear, and violence. And today we remember Ales Bialiatski, our Nobel laureate, who remains behind bars. We continue to fight for him and for all Belarusian political prisoners. Today we honor everyone who does not give up, who keeps fighting, who believes in freedom, democracy, and peace. I believe that truth will prevail. And Belarus and Venezuela will be free,” she added.
