Prytuliaj Mianie Shelter Opens in Warsaw for Belarusians

A new shelter house operated by the Prytuliaj Mianie foundation opened in Warsaw on May 30. The Prytuliaj Mianie foundation helps Belarusians facing difficult circumstances in Warsaw. It was founded by political refugee Hanna Fiadaronak and former political prisoner Alesia Bunevich.

The event was attended by the head of the United Transitional Cabinet, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, her deputy Pavel Latushka, representatives of the Latushka and For Freedom Movement coalition in the Coordination Council, representatives of human rights organisations and civil society, and cultural figures.

The democratic forces leader expressed gratitude to the foundation’s team, volunteers and partners, as well as to the Polish government and Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting Belarusians throughout the years.

“A sense of comfort comes first and foremost from you and from the atmosphere you create in your shelters. I would like to sincerely thank your team, which works hard to ensure that every Belarusian who arrives here under difficult circumstances feels comfortable and at home.

I know how much effort this requires. You explained that situations can vary, but you are an example of how people can keep going even under the most difficult conditions. And, of course, the Prytuliaj Mianie foundation has, over this time, become a home and a reliable source of support for a large number of people. I wish you prosperity, all the best, good health and strength,” she said.
