Protest Against Hybrid Attacks Held Near Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius

A protest against the regime’s hybrid attacks took place today near the Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius, the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya reported. Participants said that the aggressive policy of Alyaksandr Lukashenka does not reflect the position of the Belarusian people.

During the event, activists staged a performance. Representatives of the Office set up a small installation by the embassy fence: helium balloons with the words “Take This Back — It Belongs to You” were attached to cardboard boxes. According to participants, this symbolically “returns” the regime’s own hybrid attacks and expresses disagreement with such actions.

Representatives of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya took part in the protest.

Press Secretary Hanna Krasulina said the events should be seen not as isolated incidents but as part of a broader hybrid war that Russia and the Lukashenka regime are waging against Europe, in her words. She stressed the need for unity among democratic countries in the face of such threats.

Tsikhanouskaya’s assistant Stanislava Hlinnik said she opposes the use of Belarusian territory to pressure Lithuania and expressed solidarity with the Lithuanian people. According to her, most Belarusians do not support the authorities’ aggressive actions.

Representative of the United Transitional Cabinet for Youth Policy Marharyta Vorykhava said the purpose of hybrid attacks is to test democracies’ resilience to external pressure and attempt to sow discord.

“We are showing that democratic solidarity goes beyond national borders and that authoritarian pressure will not divide us,” she said.

Tsikhanouskaya’s personal assistant Hanna Zlatkouskaya said Belarusians abroad constantly have to prove their rejection of the regime’s actions. According to her, it is important to demonstrate that Belarusian society does not share the authorities’ policies.

“Being a Belarusian today is difficult — each time you have to prove that the regime’s actions contradict your personal moral principles. It is especially hard when you live in another country and the dictatorship continues its attacks even here, where for the first time in many years you have felt the breath of freedom. That is why it is so important to show Lithuania and Lithuanians that we, Belarusians, despise everything that comes from the Lukashenka system,” she said.

Tsikhanouskaya called for increased pressure on the regime and joint measures against provocations.

“We see constant provocations at the border: a thousand European trucks taken hostage, balloons filled with contraband crossing into Lithuania, flights cancelled or redirected. They create real danger for people and aviation. Together with Russia, Lukashenka is waging a hybrid war against Europe and against democracy. Their actions threaten not only Belarusians but the security of the entire region, and we must respond with unity, confidence and collective action.

We support stronger pressure on the regime and joint measures to stop this blackmail. Our goal is clear: Belarus must stop being a source of threats and must become a peaceful, reliable partner for the European Union. Belarusians stand with Lithuania against these provocations. No to hybrid attacks on Lithuania. No to the Lukashenka regime,” she said.
