Prosecutor General’s Office Finds Corruption Violations in Energy Ministry

The Prosecutor General’s Office has inspected compliance with anti-corruption legislation at the Ministry of Energy and organisations within its system.

According to the office, 14 corruption-related criminal cases have already been opened in the energy sector since the beginning of 2026.

“Among the most common offences are the acceptance of bribes in exchange for selecting a particular business entity during procurement procedures, facilitating payments under equipment supply contracts, as well as during the commissioning of energy and heat supply facilities and systems,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

Other violations of anti-corruption legislation were also identified, including entrepreneurial activities conducted by individuals prohibited by law from engaging in business, the use of organisational property for personal purposes, and the submission of false information in timesheets.

As a result, a formal submission was issued to the Energy Minister.
