President of Uzbekistan to Pay Official Visit to Belarus

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, will pay an official visit to Belarus on July 8–9. The visit will take place at the invitation of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The programme includes high-level talks to discuss “the further expansion of the Uzbek-Belarusian multifaceted partnership.”

“The focus will be on increasing bilateral trade, deepening cooperation in agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, light industry, the food industry and other sectors. Special attention will also be paid to expanding cultural and humanitarian exchange programmes,” the Uzbek president’s press service said.

On July 6, the Third Belarus-Uzbekistan Regions Forum opened in Minsk.
