Port, Refinery and Fuel Storage Facility Targeted as Drones Strike Russia

Russia’s Defence Ministry said on Thursday that 208 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted and destroyed over 12 regions of the country and Crimea. Meanwhile, local authorities reported fires at several facilities.

Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said a large-scale drone attack had caused a fire at industrial fuel storage facilities. The fires led to the suspension of traffic on the outbound route from Yaroslavl towards Moscow. Yaroslavl Airport was also temporarily closed.

A fire broke out following a drone attack on a chemical plant in Volzhsky and on fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in southern Volgograd, according to Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov. The Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery is located in the area.

In Russia’s Krasnodar Territory, a fire was reported on the grounds of the seaport in Temryuk.
