A third criminal case has been opened against political prisoner Tsikhan Osipau for alleged malicious disobedience to the prison administration under Article 411 of the Criminal Code, former political prisoner Antanina Kanavalava reported.
Osipau was detained during a protest on August 11, 2020, near Pushkinskaya metro station. According to the charges, he hit five internal troops servicemen with his car. Osipau was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Tsikhan has spent more than 200 days in a punishment cell. In the summer of 2024, he was immediately transferred from the United States to a cell-type facility for six months, and then again placed in a punishment cell for two months. The political prisoner does not receive letters or parcels.
According to Kanavalava, Tsikhan has serious health problems.
“As of today, it is known that Tsikhan has major health issues: his body poorly absorbs food, he has pain in his eyes, heart palpitations, blood pressure fluctuations and a weakened immune system. Every day he is kept in such conditions increases the risk of irreversible consequences,” she wrote.
