Artur Piadzko, a leading engineer at Minskenergo who was sentenced to nine years in prison on a protest-related charge, has been transferred to a prison regime for three years, Dissidentby reported.
Piadzko is currently being held in a penal colony in Mahiliou.
Piadzko was detained in November 2022. He was accused of passing data on more than 500 officials to Telegram channels. Under the court ruling, he was also ordered to pay more than $100,000 in damages.
In 2024, Piadzko was sentenced to nine years in prison on charges of inciting hatred under Article 130 of the Criminal Code. He has been added to the lists of “terrorists” and “extremists”.
