Polish Carrier Tried to Conceal Large Shipment of Spare Parts From Belarusian Customs

Belarusian customs officers intercepted a shipment of spare parts worth 360,000 Belarusian rubles that a Polish carrier failed to declare in the accompanying documents, the State Customs Committee said.

A Scania truck crossed the Polish-Belarusian border through the Berastavitsa border checkpoint. During an inspection, customs officers discovered undeclared cargo in the vehicle — more than 4,700 automotive spare parts worth more than 360,000 Belarusian rubles.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the carrier. The company faces a fine amounting to 30% of the value of the goods involved in the administrative offence, in addition to the outstanding customs duties.
