The Economic Court of Vitsyebsk Region has opened bankruptcy proceedings against OJSC Polatsk Dairy Plant. The decision was made on 18 May. Strategy for Anti-Crisis Management LLC was appointed as the insolvency administrator.
According to the documents, the bankruptcy application was filed by the dairy plant itself. At the same time, the state association Vitsyebsk Concern Meat and Dairy Products and the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Vitsyebsk Regional Executive Committee supported the company’s position.
The dairy plant’s creditor liabilities at the time of filing the bankruptcy application amounted to 377.8 million rubles, including 71 million rubles in overdue liabilities. At the same time, the company’s assets totalled 260.52 million rubles.
At the end of April, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natallia Kachanava visited Polatsk Dairy Plant. During her visit, it was announced that the plant would come under the management of Savushkin Product, which plans to invest $70 million in it.
The bankruptcy process will not affect those plans.
“The launch of bankruptcy proceedings will not affect Savushkin Product’s plans to establish a modern dairy processing plant in Polatsk. We will coordinate our further actions taking into account the process that has begun and plan to purchase the assets of the dairy plant through an auction after their market valuation within the bankruptcy procedure.”, OL quoted Savushkin Product as saying.
