Poland to Receive First F-35 Fighter Jets at the End of May

The first F-35 fighter jets are expected to arrive in Poland at the end of May. They will be stationed at the air base in Łask, Łódź Voivodeship.

Sixteen of the 32 ordered F-35 aircraft will form the “Hussar” squadron. The aircraft have already formally entered service with the Polish Air Force but are still based at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Arkansas, United States, where flight crews and maintenance personnel are undergoing training.

The Polish F-16 fighter jets are already stationed at the Łask base, where the F-35s will be deployed.

The contract for the delivery of 32 F-35 aircraft is worth $4.6 billion. It was signed in early 2020.
