Photo of Andrzej Poczobut Projected on Presidential Palace in Warsaw

A projection of a photo of political prisoner and journalist Andrzej Poczobut appeared on the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The image was published by the Chancellery of the President of Poland.

“On November 11, 2025, Andrzej Poczobut, who is imprisoned in Belarus, was awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, with the country’s highest state honor — the Order of the White Eagle,” the caption to the photo read.

The Order of the White Eagle is Poland’s oldest and highest state decoration. It is awarded for outstanding civil and military merit in service to the Republic of Poland, both in peacetime and wartime. The order is bestowed on the most distinguished Poles and high-ranking representatives of foreign states.

In February 2023, journalist Andrzej Poczobut was sentenced to eight years in a high-security penal colony. The trial was held behind closed doors. He was found guilty of inciting hatred and calling for sanctions. Poczobut is serving his sentence in a colony in Novopolotsk.
