Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to meet Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lublin today, the Polish prime minister’s office said.
The talks will focus on the outcome of Zelenskyy’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and other negotiations held in the United States.
Zelenskyy and Trump met in Washington yesterday. Following the talks, Zelenskyy said they had discussed licensing missiles for Patriot air defence systems, as well as the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. Earlier, the Ukrainian president said the United States was prepared to make new proposals for a settlement.
It is worth noting that relations between Poland and Ukraine have faced growing strains in recent weeks. Zelenskyy has also used Moldova, rather than Poland, for his recent foreign trips, even though Poland had served as his main transit route throughout the years of the war.
