Former political prisoner Pavel Belavus has posted an emotional video of his first reunion with his family following his release on September 16.

“Good, I’ll show you how Katya, the kids and I reunited. Thanks to Naviband for the song that set the mood.”, he wrote on Facebook.

Pavel Belavus is the founder of symbal.by, a store selling national symbols. In May 2023, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Belavus was accused of treason, organising and preparing actions that grossly violate public order, calling for sanctions, and leading an extremist group.

He was released on September 16, 2026, following talks between the United States and the Belarusian authorities, and forcibly taken to Lithuania.
