Dzianis Kuchynski, an adviser to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, said that political prisoners pardoned yesterday and remaining in Belarus will be released today and tomorrow.
“The release of 235 of our heroes should take place both today and tomorrow. I remain in constant contact with our American partners,” he said.
It should be recalled that yesterday, following talks between Alyaksandr Lukashenka and US President’s Special Envoy John Coale, it was announced that 250 people had been pardoned. Fifteen of them were transferred from Belarus to Lithuania without documents, while 235 were expected to be released inside the country.
As of this morning, none of them had yet been released. The releases began later, with reports from human rights defenders emerging around the same time as Lukashenka’s press service started publishing his comments on the previous day’s negotiations.
