Orange Alert Issued for June 5

Forecasters have issued an orange weather alert for Friday, June 5.

“During daytime hours on June 5 (Friday), thunderstorms are expected across many areas of western Belarus. In some locations, thunderstorms may be accompanied by heavy downpours and squally winds with gusts of 15-20 m/s,” the statement said.

Weather conditions in Belarus on Thursday will be influenced mainly by a warm air mass, while the western half of the country will also be affected by an atmospheric front. Cloudy conditions with sunny intervals are expected.

Nighttime temperatures will range from +7°C in eastern areas to +16°C in the west. Daytime highs are forecast at +22°C to +28°C. Atmospheric pressure is expected to remain largely unchanged.
