Number of People Employed in the Economy Slightly Declines in January

In January, 4.1628 million people were employed in the economy of Belarus. This was 1,400 fewer than in December. In recent months, the dynamics of employment have been changing on a monthly basis, with the number rising one month and declining the next.

In January 2025, an increase in employment was recorded on a year-on-year basis for the first time in several years. This year, compared with January 2025, the number of people employed also increased, by 31,200.

However, compared with December 2019, the number of people employed in the economy decreased by 172,200. At that time, 4.335 million people were employed in the economy.
