The Belarusian Railway Workers’ Community reported details of the construction of the Yakimauka military training ground in the Rechytsa district.
The training ground is being built in a wooded area of the Rechytsa district near Yakimauka station, an intermediate station on the Kalinkavichy-Homiel section. A new railway track about 1.24 km long is being built from Yakimauka to a loading and unloading complex inside the training ground.
According to the Belarusian Railway Workers’ Community, the new track will be able to accommodate up to 60 railcars. This will free up the station tracks at Yakimauka and reduce intermediate shunting operations on the public railway infrastructure. The infrastructure under construction will allow the track to the training ground to be used to deliver personnel, weapons and military equipment, fuel, ammunition, engineering equipment and other cargo.
“Once the railway section is commissioned, the training ground will become a reception point for military trains heading toward Ukraine. A track for 60 railcars, its own loading and unloading front, communications and a centralized route from the station will significantly expand the capabilities for the deployment, supply and rotation of units,” the Belarusian Railway Workers’ Community said.
Satellite images from July 18, 2026, show that construction of the track has already begun.
