Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Iran’s new ambassador to Belarus, Mohsen Omidzamani, before his departure for Minsk.
The Iranian foreign minister stressed the need to continue efforts to develop and strengthen relations between Tehran and Minsk, with particular attention to expanding cooperation in the economic and trade, scientific and technological spheres, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.
Before being appointed ambassador to Belarus, Omidzamani served as deputy director general for multilateral and international economic cooperation and was also Iran’s ambassador to Singapore.
The previous Iranian ambassador to Belarus was Alireza Sanei.
