The National Bank of Belarus has reduced the calculated standard risk values for April.
The following rates will apply:
- for new fixed-term irrevocable deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles with maturities from one to three years — 14.14% per annum (-0.2 percentage points);
- for new fixed-term irrevocable deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles with maturities over three years — 15.31% per annum (unchanged);
- for new investment loans to legal entities (excluding preferential loans) — 11.80% per annum (unchanged);
- for new loans to legal entities (excluding preferential and investment loans) — 12.8% per annum (-0.09 percentage points);
- for new loans to individuals (excluding preferential loans) — 18.26% per annum (-0.23 percentage points).
Banks that exceed these standard risk thresholds must comply with stricter regulatory requirements on capital adequacy, provisioning for potential losses, and reserve funds. As a result, this indicator indirectly affects the cost of loans in the country.
