The National Bank of Belarus has decided to lower the standard risk calculation values for July.
The following rates will apply in July:
- for new fixed-term non-revocable Belarusian ruble deposits by individuals with maturities of one to three years — 13.32% per annum (down 0.23 percentage points);
- for new fixed-term non-revocable Belarusian ruble deposits by individuals with maturities of more than three years — 14.81% per annum (down 0.1 percentage points);
- for new investment loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential loans) — 11.08% per annum (down 0.14 percentage points);
- for new loans granted to legal entities (excluding preferential and investment loans) — 12.26% per annum (unchanged);
- for new loans granted to individuals (excluding preferential loans) — 17.96% per annum (unchanged).
Banks that exceed the standard risk calculation values are required to comply with stricter regulatory requirements regarding capital adequacy, the creation of special reserves to cover potential losses and the formation of mandatory reserve funds. As a result, the indicator indirectly affects borrowing costs in the country.
