Belarusian Government Begins Preparations for Winter

Belarus’ Council of Ministers has approved a package of measures to prepare for the autumn-winter season. Such a document is adopted annually.

The resolution sets targets for the replacement and construction of heating networks, as well as the creation of reserves of fuel oil and wood fuel.

The document also specifies recommended procurement volumes of peat briquettes for fuel supply organizations and includes a list of boiler houses where work to optimize operating modes, as well as the composition of primary and auxiliary equipment, must be completed in 2026.

The resolution also outlines tasks for ministries, other national government agencies, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee to implement measures aimed at promoting the efficient use of fuel and energy resources and maximizing the use of locally available energy resources, primarily wood pellets.
