The “Civil Development Foundation ‘Nation of Leaders’ / ‘Natsiya liderov’” has been designated an “extremist formation” in Belarus. The decision was made by the State Security Committee on March 20 and published today.
The entry states that Vasilisa Degtsyarenka (born February 23, 1981), Dzmitry Savelau (born April 1, 1986), Iryna Bazylevich (born March 14, 1984), and Andrei Yanushkevich (born April 29, 1976) are associated with the initiative.
“A group of citizens forming part of the extremist formation ‘Civil Development Foundation ‘Nation of Leaders’ / ‘Natsiya liderov’ carries out extremist activities,” the “reference information” states.
The initiative focuses on developing online educational projects and building an educational community.
It should be recalled that Belarusian authorities regularly use extremism-related charges to target opponents and dissent more broadly.
