The Minsk Metro has announced its operating schedule for the holiday period. Belarusians will have two long weekends linked to Christmas and New Year, with four days off for two consecutive weeks.
According to the metro operator, trains will run on a weekend schedule on December 25–28 and on January 1. On December 31, the metro will operate according to a Friday schedule.
On New Year’s night, the metro will operate until 4 a.m. The Nyamiha, Kastrychnitskaya and Kupalauskaya stations (exit to Independence Avenue) will close for entry at 4:15 a.m. In the first hours of the new year, train intervals will be six minutes on the first and second lines, while trains on the third line will run at intervals of 8.5 minutes.
On January 1, the metro will begin operations at 5:40 a.m. In the evening, train intervals on the second line from 6 p.m. to midnight will be four minutes.
