Minsk Economy Grew Faster Than Belarus’s Overall Economy in the First Half of the Year

Minsk’s gross regional product (GRP) increased by 2.2% in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to the first estimate released by the Main Statistical Office of the City of Minsk.

The capital’s GRP totalled 47.5 billion Belarusian rubles at current prices. At constant prices, which exclude the impact of inflation, the indicator reached 102.2% of the level recorded in January-June 2025, indicating real economic growth of 2.2%.

Minsk remains the country’s largest economic centre. At the same time, the capital’s economic growth outpaced the national rate. Earlier, Belstat reported that Belarus’s gross domestic product increased by 1.5% in constant prices in the first half of the year.
