Meat Chips Production Workshop Suspended In Polatsk District

The operations of a private workshop producing meat chips have been suspended in the Polatsk district. An inspection found that the enterprise was not authorised to process and produce meat products, the press service of the State Control Committee of Belarus reports.

The workshop was not registered in the special register of production facilities where unprocessed food raw materials of animal origin are processed. Despite this, it produced and sold more than 1.3 tonnes of meat chips in 2026.

The inspection also revealed violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements. In particular, containers with additives and seasonings had no labels, making it impossible to establish the origin, shelf life and composition of the products. In addition, workers did not have separate sanitary workwear, dispensers lacked cleaning and disinfecting agents, and there was no separate equipment for cleaning refrigerated chambers and refrigerators.

Following the inspection, veterinary certification of the workshop’s products was suspended. The facility was removed from the trade register, prohibiting it from operating in the retail and catering sectors. The owner was held administratively liable.
