A real estate agency in Mahiliou concealed revenue and paid salaries “in envelopes” until it drew the attention of the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee.
On the director’s instructions, the agency’s employees did not issue receipts to clients and failed to record the money received in accounting. Some contracts with individuals were not registered, while others were formally terminated, although services under them continued to be provided.
Such a scheme allowed the agency to hide part of its cash revenue and use it to pay salaries “in envelopes”, the State Control Committee reports.
The State Control Committee estimated the damage to the state in the form of unpaid taxes and insurance contributions at nearly 300,000 roubles. The damage has been fully compensated.
A criminal case has been opened against the agency’s director on charges of large-scale tax evasion.
