Lukashenka Signs Decree on Construction of Bull Fattening Complexes

On January 5, Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree on the development of the meat industry, which provides for the construction and reconstruction in 2026–2030 of specialized complexes for the rearing and fattening of bulls at agricultural or processing organizations engaged in agricultural production. These organizations will be determined by the Council of Ministers on the basis of proposals prepared by regional executive committees.

“The decree is aimed at improving the material and technical base of the meat industry and increasing the efficiency of beef production,” Lukashenka’s press service said.

The document sets out the conditions for the implementation of investment projects and the requirements they must meet. It allows project design documentation to be developed in parallel with the construction and reconstruction of specialized complexes.

The decree provides for subsidies to cover interest payments on loans on a co-financing basis from the republican and local budgets. The procedure and conditions for granting such subsidies are established.

In addition, credit resources may be provided by the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus with maturities of up to 20 years and interest charged at the National Bank’s refinancing rate. The lending limit is 85 base units per livestock place.
