Alyaksandr Lukashenka, during a meeting with Franklin Graham, head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, decided to send greetings to US President Donald Trump. During the conversation, he thanked the guest for a “kind message” previously delivered by presidential envoy John Coale.
“Franklin, I would like to thank you for the kind message that Mr. Coale conveyed to me during his visit and our talks. You understand that without the president of the United States, it might have been more difficult for us to establish our relations,” Lukashenka said, according to his press service.
“Therefore, when you meet him — and I know you have good relations with the president — convey my warmest wishes to him and tell him that he has reliable friends and supporters in Belarus,” he added.
It should be noted that Franklin Graham delivered a prayer at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Graham arrived in Belarus to take part in the Protestant “Festival of Hope.” His visit is taking place from May 14 to 18.
