Lukashenka Embarks on Extensive Visit to East and Southeast Asia

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has embarked on a multi-country visit to the East and Southeast Asia region. The trip includes high-level talks with the leaders of several countries in the region and discussions on “large-scale and promising” projects in various fields.

As Lukashenka’s press service reported, the itinerary will cover “tens of thousands of kilometres”. The trip includes visits to three countries, each preceded by “extensive preparatory work.”

“East and Southeast Asia is a region that is one of the leaders of global development and a key driver of the world economy. This explains the strong interest in developing cooperation with Asian countries, which is among Belarus’ foreign policy priorities and forms the basis of its multi-vector policy,” the press release said.
