Alyaksandr Lukashenka has sent congratulations to Kim Jong Un on his re-election as General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of North Korea following the results of the party’s 9th congress.
In his message, Lukashenka described the holding of the congress as evidence of Kim Jong Un’s achievements as the country’s leader and expressed hope that the decisions adopted would contribute to the economic development of the DPRK.
“The successful holding of the 9th congress testifies to the excellent results of your leadership, confirms the unity of the party and the Korean people, and demonstrates a resolute focus on the further development of a strong and independent state,” the press service quoted Lukashenka as saying.
He expressed confidence that the decisions adopted at the congress would “create additional conditions for accelerating the pace of socialist construction, the growth of the national economy and national development amid a challenging international environment.”
Lukashenka wished the addressee good health, energy and further success for the benefit of the DPRK.
Kim Jong Un has led the DPRK since 2011, following the death of his father, Kim Jong Il.
Kim Jong Un is the third son of Kim Jong Il, the son and successor of the first leader of the DPRK, Kim Il Sung.
