Lukashenka Appoints New BelTA Director General

Alyaksandr Lukashenka replaced the director general of the state news agency BelTA. Andrey Mokhar, who had previously served as director of the information broadcasting division at JSC Second National TV Channel, was appointed to the post.

Until November 2025, the position of BelTA director general was held by Iryna Akulovich. She was dismissed “in connection with a transfer to another job”.

Lukashenka also appointed Dzmitry Zhuk as information minister and Marat Markau, who had previously headed the Information Ministry, as culture minister.
